Sweet Love

A work for women, Sweet Love takes inspiration from the bittersweet tales, and heartfelt lyricism in Appalachian Folk and Country Music, and the personal and universal themes of women’s lives

Originally initiated with support from Dance Bristol and Dance Base, Sweet Love was developed through both a Creative Lab and Choreographic Development project at Dance House Glasgow and performed by a cast of 14 women at the Center for Contemporary Arts in February 2008.

Set to a heart wrenching and poignant music and sound score, a unique group of female performers spanning 4 generations and from various dance and performance backgrounds, contributed to this revealing performance exploring the desolation, frustration, surrender and humour of women in isolation and together.
