POP-UP Duets (fragments of love) is a series of a series of 5-minute, multi-site-specific contemporary dance duets, based around the theme of love and designed for a wide range of public spaces such as museums, galleries, cafes, foyers, libraries and bespoke receptions and events.
Created by Janis Claxton (choreographer) and Pippa Murphy (composer) and four world-class dancers, POP-UP Duets are designed to emerge from public situations and to be received by invited as well as unsuspecting or ‘accidental’ audiences.

POP-UP Duets premiered in August 2016 at National Museum of Scotland as part of The Made in Scotland Showcase for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with dancers Carlos J Martinez, Adrienne O’Leary, Christina Liddell and James Southward.
Each duet is accompanied by a track of original music specifically composed for the choreography with 3 tracks featuring vocals by Scottish Album of the Year 2015 winner, Kathryn Joseph. Dramaturg Clive Andrews and costume designer Matthias Strahm complete the creative team. The work is produced by Mike Griffiths.
The duets were viewed live by more than 7000 people and received 5 & 4 Star reviews major press publications as well as 43,000+ views on BBC Loop
